I recently took a picture of some tire tracks in wet sand on a walk to my mailbox. This is the first in a series of what I create from that original photo.

This piece is best seen in detail. Click on the link to view it full size.

Kinda like the wings of the flutterby ‘fuzzy’. I’m not sure how that happens when it’s sand and tire tracks–but you seem to know. *laughing* I guess it’d help more if you knew. I’m quite content in admiring the end results! 🙂

Thanks for sharing them with us, here.

I softened those edges to make them take on the look of fur in the finished piece, which, of course, is best seen in the larger shot, as the pics on the blog don’t show all that much detail. As you know, I might ‘start’ with tire tracks in sand, but I’m never sure what it will each piece will ‘be’, what textural qualities a work will carry until it reaches its final form. There’s a lot of inquiry and discovery taking place in the making of each creation. 🙂

I enjoy sharing these pieces — I wouldn’t be much of a friend if I kept all these pretties to myself…
